Wow, you are a blogging superstar! Way to go! I am really enjoying your posts. Today's post is particularly interesting for me as I have never had the opportunity to go to a kura and I always wondered what your school day was like at Te Kura Kaupapa Maori O Puau Te Moananui a Kiwa.
My son, Aronui, is part Maori and part Canadian. I am Canadian and his dad is Maori (Tainui from Ngaruawahia). Aronui is very proud to be both Maori and Canadian. He is particularly proud of his name and he often likes to read stories about Ranginui and Papatuanuku because they make reference to the ketes, one of which is kete-Aronui.
Aronui is currently learning Te Reo Maori but he does go to a mainstream English school. I will definitely share your blogs with him and show him what it is like to go to a special kura. He will be fascinated!
I hope that you and your brothers and sisters are all enjoying your holiday and the break from school. I am so proud of you for practicing your reading and writing skills over the holiday. It's wonderful!
